Moldova is good at growing things! The soviets more or less used it as their kitchen garden, and even Wikipedia praises its “plentiful grapes, fruits, vegetables, grains, meat and milk products”. Most homes have a garden plot, and people enjoy the food. Moldovans have… basically feasts… any time there’s a celebration! I’m looking forward to checking out the wide variety of local dishes, and I hope to share them on “Food Fridays” (okay, maybe not EVERY Friday), so check back often!
Moldova is wine country! The world’s largest wine cellar, Mileștii Mici, with over 2 MILLION bottles of wine, is located there. People make wine at home and I hear that they are often eager to share a glass of their special vintage. I’m eager to find out first hand.
